哈欠猫的小屉子

最初的爱情,最后的仪式    -[future release]
Time:2010-02-06

书终于下厂了,样书到手要等年后,年前可能再去印厂看一下封面调色。我说过,等样书到手才会完全放心,不过,现在基本可以肯定,书能出来了,箭已离弦。

Yes, you should totally translate Patricia Highsmith. She's a very compelling author with powerful prose. She wrote the ripley novels and a slew of other thrillers and they're very readable, not in the least theoretical and elitist like Auster can be sometimes. I think she'll sell very well with the right marketing, but of course I know nothing about the publishing world.
good luck & and happy new year.

Forgive me to intrude so rudely, but are you the same lanmao who used to post short-stories on zhazhadong? I was reminded of them when I saw recently "eyes wide open" (without the benefit of translation). I've looked up some of your translations, and find your career to be fascinating. Although I've never read most of these works, I am an avid Auster fan and loved NYT...I'm wondering if you've ever considered translating Patricia Highsmith, who is widely considered one of the best contemporary prose stylists...It would be great to talk with you, please write back.
